Dwelling as a path.
The character of the landscape is a prominent journey in itself. Slopes made of sandstone host a lush environment teaming with life. Light and shadow, open and obstructed views, waterways and the open sea all contribute to a story we wanted to solidify through our design. The flow between public and private, the space sequence and the gradual reveal of views is a continuation of the surrounding habitat.
The forest’s memory.
The sustainability strategy is deeply rooted in the landscape’s natural rhythm. Preserving the integrity of the Mediterranean pine forest, the design leaves 65% of existing trees untouched, allowing the site’s original character to remain intact. A carefully integrated retention pond system ensures the thoughtful distribution of water, protecting the delicate soil structure and supporting the long-term health of the forest. This approach not only safeguards the ecological balance but allows the architecture to exist as a quiet continuation of the terrain, rather than an interruption.
